Spirent’s Paignton Office Puts People First and Joins an Elite Group of Companies in the UK Committed to Transforming Business Performance through People
Spirent Communications plc, the leading provider of test & measurement solutions, today announced that its Positioning Technology division located in Paignton, UK has received the Investors in People (IIP)Silver award. With this Silver award Spirent joins a select group of less than 3 percent of organisations in the UK that have been awarded the Investors in People Standard.
Investors in People (IIP)—which specialise in supporting business performance through people and accreditation— is the UK’s leading people management and business improvement standard. The Silver accreditation represents achievement of world-class best practice and shows an organisation is operating at very high levels of people management practice.
“This is a fantastic achievement for Spirent Communications and clearly shows that continual improvement and development is top priority” said John Telfer, managing director of Inspiring Business Performance Ltd (IBP), the organisation that delivers Investors in People for London and the South. “Spirent is implementing good planning, strong leadership and people management, excellent learning and development support, and good evaluation processes to get the best out of its employee. I really like the proactive approach that the company has taken with regard to continuously looking at what it can do even better on the people front.”
In addition to meeting the 10 components of IIP Standard framework, Spirent was also assessed across three additional criteria—Career Development, Innovation and Risk Taking and Employee Morale. The IIP assessor interviewed 25 percent of staff, and based on more than 21 hours of review and feedback Spirent achieved 158 of the evidence requirements.
“This is a real achievement for the staff in our Paignton facility” said Martin Foulger, leader of Spirent’s Positioning Technology business. “The silver standard accreditation is as much about our employees being engaged in making the Paignton facility a good place to work as it is about recognition of the ability of our managers in managing and leading their teams.”
