Healthcare.gov Twitter page – Social Media TAB

People are either asking where to get new health care insurance or they’re having trouble accessing the new government website at healthcare.gov. The President noted that by 7am on October 1st, 2013, over 1 million people had already visited the site. Then a report came in that stated over 2.8 million visitors came to the site and the site crashed from all of the people trying to sign up at the same time. The White House then reported that the response has been overwhelming. The consensus: people want health insurance and they’re glad they can now get it.

Additionally, Connecticut’s state site showed people interested in healthcare with over 130,000 hits. However, that’s nothing compared to California’s site which saw a whopping 1.7 million hits.

Healthcare.gov’s Twitter account also blossomed quickly and now has over 100,000 people following it.

What do you think of the new Healthcare.gov site? How successful do you think it will be?
